Hi there. I am a full time brass teacher for The WA Department of Education's School of Instrumental Music (SIM). I teach at over 15 schools a week, and teach students from year 5 to year 12, and on a variety of brass instruments.
I have taught brass in both country and metropolitan schools in WA for SIM since 1991. This has included teaching in both the northern and southern suburbs of Perth, including at John Curtin College of the Arts (one of The Department's two Gifted and Talented music schools). I have also taught high school class music in both country and metropolitan schools in WA. This has included being a class music teacher at Churchlands SHS (one of The Department's two G&T music schools) and Leeming SHS, and being Teacher-in-Charge of Music at High schools in Duncraig, Collie and Denmark (WA).
I have conducted a number of Concert Bands at high schools including Churchlands, Duncraig, Mount Lawley, Greenwood, John Curtin,Leeming, Willetton, Applecross, Collie, Mount Barker and Denmark as well as working with Primary school students in Junior Bands at Churchlands, Applecross and Collie.
A very old photo (circa 1890) of me whilst still a student myself, back in Scotland...........!
